Learning Spotlight

To help ensure you’re getting the most out of your GS1 Canada solutions and tools, we have recently updated our TrueSource™ Dashboard learning materials.

Check out our TrueSource™ Dashboard training module to learn more about how this data excellence tool can enable your organization to track product metrics and make informed business decisions about your internal business processes.

TrueSource™ Dashboard

  • TrueSource™ Dashboard is a standardized industry data excellence tool that enables people across your organization to track product metrics in one easy-to-navigate. This helps identify whether you have the content needed to drive important business processes and foster strong business relationships. TrueSource™ Dashboard also enables you to track if any product changes are reflected in all the places they need to be, helping to eliminate the issue where different systems are promoting different product versions.
  • By offering visibility to metrics, TrueSource™ Dashboard provides insights used to enhance catalogue management, optimize resources, facilitate informed business planning and improve meeting productivity.
  • If your trading partner is also using TrueSource™ Dashboard, you can use the My Trading Partners view to focus on the specific items you trade with them, enabling transparency and collaboration to drive data quality (how does the collaboration impact data quality?)
  • When you subscribe to an Industry Managed Solution, you will automatically gain access to TrueSource™ Dashboard.

If you’re a data provider, you can view your data in 2 different ways:

The My Trading Partners view enables you to compare your content status to trading partner requirements, enabling transparency and collaboration to drive data quality.

The My TrueSource™ Dashboard view eliminates the need for maintaining duplicate scorecards and enables visibility to the status of your product content across multiple business processes, providing insights that can be used to:

  • Enhance Catalogue Management: Quickly identify, track and manage the completion of gaps in your product catalogue.
  • Optimize Resource Allocation: Focus and coordinate internal resources across multiple teams to prioritize and close content gaps.
  • Facilitate Informed Business Planning: Leverage trends to inform budgeting, project management and go-to-market strategies.
  • Enable Process Improvement: Track the progress of changes over time to inform continuous improvement of product lifecycle processes.
  • Improve Meeting Productivity: Quickly gather reports and insights to focus agendas and facilitate open, productive dialogue.

Researchers states that the solution is a barcode solution, they want to see Canada move to a similar system used in Europe where the scientific Latin name of the genus and species is placed on the label.
