Upcoming Enhancements


Upcoming Enhancements for ECCnet Registry include:

  • Data integrity enhancements to support data completeness and data accuracy in alignment with Canadian industry requirements for Pharmacy, Grocery and Foodservice sectors.
  • Continued global standards alignment with GDSN to enable data synchronization with global trading partners.
  • Minor user interface enhancements
  • Updates to ProSYNC and Item Centre will also be performed to align with these changes.

Important Notice for Optional Attributes:

While both existing and new product transparency attributes are optional in ECCnet Registry, providing your Foodservice trading partners with this enhanced product information is paramount in addressing the critical product information to enable a number of different foodservice business processes.

Therefore, it is highly recommended that all attributes are provided that are relevant to your products.

Projected Launch Date: June 1, 2020

Outage Dates: From Friday, May 29 at 9 pm EST - Monday, June 1 at 9 am EST, ECCnet Registry, ProSYNC and Item Centre may not be available.

In alignment to ECCnet Registry, the upcoming enhancements for ProSYNC include:

Upcoming Enhancements for Item Centre include:

  • Various UI improvements including advanced packaging hierarchy layout to enable easier access to information used during the product listing process, zoom in/out features for images to aid in verifying key product details, as well as additional user navigation enhancements.
  • Search Navigation improvements such as advanced search filters, the ability to select multiple values within filters and option to search for GTIN lists versus individual GTINs.

As part of the continued effort to enable easier, more seamless access to all GS1 Canada Industry Managed solutions, existing subscribers to Recall Food and Beverage, Recall General Merchandise, and Recall Healthcare will no longer be required to log in separately and manage various credentials.

Users will be able to leverage their existing MyGS1 credentials to login and access any of the above-mentioned applications from their My Tools section on their myGS1 homepage.

Product Certification for Nutritional Content and Pharmaceutical Content will be enhanced to include more descriptive attributes so that more detailed information can be shared with trading partners. Nutritional Content will have various attributes for declaring Milk Source, Ocean Wise certification and Vegetarian products, while Pharmaceutical Content will have added Ampoule as a packaging form, and the Hazard Rating system will be repeatable five times to account for multiple values.
