Additional Enhancements

As part of ECCnet Registry 10.7 release, the following approved community business requirements will be addressed:

  • Retire International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA) Classification Code in ECCnet Registry. IFDA no longer maintains this classification system. Therefore, this attribute will be removed from ECCnet Registry.
  • Rename field label “Kosher COR #” to “Kosher Certification Number”.
  • Add “Kosher Classification” values:
    • Kosher-Fish (F)
    • Kosher Dairy Equipment (DE)
    • Kosher for Passover Fish (F-P)
  • Add gluten sources to comply with Health Canada's enhanced allergen labeling requirements for packaged food products:

In Ontario, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island retailers charge only GST on these items. The provincial portion of the HST on books and other designated items is a point-of-sale rebate.

In ECCnet Registry, vendors specify if a product is eligible for the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) point-of-sale rebate for the provinces applying HST. In Item Centre, this value appears at the Each level for grocery and pharmacy channels of distributions.

  • Harmonized System (HS) Code for Border Crossing
  • Import and export of trade items typically require classification codes to determine appropriate duties and tariffs. A new pair of optional attributes will be added to indicate the code for tariffs to trade products internationally:

    Import Classification Code: Values include:

  • Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System
  • Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States
  • Import Classification Value: The value for an associated import classification type.
    Example for baby garments:

GTIN Discrepancy Reporting (GDR) Integration
Several enhancements have been made to the GDR system integration with Item Centre.

  1. Previously, the “GDR” status in Item Centre did not always reflect the actual status of a GTIN in the GDR system. In this release, the previous GDR statuses (GDR-Open and GDR-Closed) are being replaced with a count of the open GDRs for a GTIN.
  2. The number of open GDRs (if any) will now appear in all search results and work queue listings for each GTIN. Users can click on the GDR status and it will take them directly into the GDR system, showing the search results for open GDRs for that specific GTIN.
  3. When reviewing Item Details, the number of open GDRs will appear in the Activity Status box. User can click on this status and it will take them directly into the GDR system, showing the search results for open GDRs for that specific GTIN.
  4. The “Link to GDR” action on the Search screen has been replaced with a “Search GDR” action available from the Items menu. This action will now take users directly to the search screen within the GDR system.

Impact: Improved user experience when viewing GDRs within the Item Centre user interface and navigating to opens GDRs within the Online GDR system.

Users Affected: All Item Centre users (suppliers and data recipients).

Impact:Users will no longer have access to the tabular grids on the work queues and Change Summary screens and will need to familiarize themselves with the new layout.

Users Affected: All Item Centre users.

Search and View Trading Partners
A new feature has been added for data recipient users that will allow them to view a full list of their vendors who load data through ECCnet Registry. Users can also search for specific vendors or extract the full list of their trading partners in a variety of output formats.

For data recipient users who have subscribed to the Basic service, this list will contain the trading partner name and Global Location Number (GLN).

Impact:This new functionality will allow data recipient user to view and extract trading partner lists.

Users Affected: Item Centre data recipient users only.

Item Reassignment

When items are reassigned, the new user becomes the ‘owner’ of the items for all future workflow steps. Ownership is reassigned for all items that are in the user’s work queue, items that are in the workflow, and items that have been completed.

Impact: Data recipient administrator users can reassign products from one user to another.

Users Affected: Data recipient administrators only.

Search Results Navigation
When viewing Item Details based on search results, a new search results navigation ribbon has been added that will allow users to navigate to the previous or next items in the results, eliminating the need to return to the search results every time another item needs to be viewed.

Impact:Improved search results navigation.

Users Affected: All Item Centre users who have access to edit Private and/or Internal data fields in the new item introduction workflow (both suppliers and data recipients).

Private Data Mass Edit
Supplier users now have the ability to make mass edits across several GTINs. Users can select multiple GTINs, enter common data once, and save that data across all GTINs selected.

Impact:Common data entry across several GTINs can now take place in one step as opposed to editing each GTIN individually.

Users Affected: Supplier users who have access to the new item introduction workflow.

Mass Update Attribute Defaults
During mass update, default values were not always being applied to Private and Internal data attributes, forcing the user to perform individual edits to move the item through the workflow. This issue has been fixed so that mass updates will apply all default values.

Impact: Fix to mass update feature that will eliminate unnecessary steps to populate data.

Users Affected: All Item Centre users who have access to the new item introduction workflow.

Save & Submit Action
The two-step process for suppliers to Save and then Submit a listing to their trading partners has been combined into a single action. On the Private Data edit screen, the new Submit button will save the data entered and submit the listing to the trading partner for their review. If not all of the mandatory data has been completed, the data will be saved, but the listing will not be submitted.

Impact: Reduction of steps will help to prevent suppliers from saving their data but forgetting to submit the listing to their trading partners.

Users Affected: Supplier users who have access to the new item introduction workflow.

Quick Link to Product Change Log
Users can now access the product change log through a hyperlink on the date/time field on the search results, work queues or Change Summary screen.

Users Affected: All Item Centre users who have access to the new item introduction workflow.

Workflow Actions Filtering
The list of workflow actions available from the work queues can be filtered by selecting the appropriate Activity Status from the box on the left. Only those actions available for the selected Activity Status will be available.

For example, users can filter the available actions for items with Critical Changes by selecting the corresponding Activity Status.

Impact:Users can filter the actions list to only show actions that are applicable for a specific Activity Status.

Users Affected: All Item Centre users who have access to the new item introduction workflow.

Mozilla Firefox Web Browser Support
Item Centre has been optimized for the Mozilla Firefox web browser.

Impact: Item Centre is fully functional on Mozilla Firefox version 8 and higher.

Impact:Users can search without entering any search criteria; results will be returned for all GTINs that the user has access to.

Users Affected: All Item Centre users.

Initiate Listing Behavior
Minor usability improvement made to listing initiation to ensure consistency. Previously, after initiating a listing from the Item Details, the user would be taken to the default work queue. Now, after initiating a listing, the user will remain on the Item Details screen.

Impact:  Minor usability improvement.

Users Affected: All data recipient users who have access to the new item introduction workflow and who are able to initiative item listings.
