ProSYNC for Brokers and Distributors

The role of brokers and distributors in the supply chain is a unique one. Sometimes they act as the vendor of record, loading product information on behalf of their manufacturers. Other times, they act as the data recipient, receiving product information from the manufacturer. ProSYNC bridges the gap between these roles, allowing brokers and distributors to fulfill both roles within a single platform.

Incorporating the broker and distributor role directly into the process creates a pipeline between manufacturers and retailers, streamlining the sharing of product data and enabling increased data quality and product visibility while helping eliminate time-consuming and costly duplication of GTINs.

How ProSYNC Works for Brokers and Distributors

As a data recipient:

• Manufacturers load product data via ProSYNC and publish to brokers and distributors
• Brokers and distributors can then receive the product data from manufacturers and publish to the trading partners as part of the product listing process

As a data provider:

• Brokers and distributor load product data in ProSYNC on behalf of the manufacturers
• Once product data is successfully added and passed all validations, brokers and distributor can publish to the trading partners as part of the product listing process
• Data recipients receive the product listing data in Item Centre and can request additional information if needed.

1. To get started, you must first be a GS1 Canada subscriber
   Subscribe to GS1 Canada Now

GDSN is the world's largest product data network, and makes it possible for any company, in any market, to share product information.

With GDSN, your product data is uploaded, maintained, and shared automatically, ensuring trading partners have access to the most current and complete information needed to exchange products on both local and global markets.

Content loaded into ECCnet Registry via GDSN data pools can be published to trading partners once the data is fully validated and meets the data quality standards for Canadian industry.

If you do not already have a GDSN data pool provider, you can subscribe to the GS1 Canada GDSN data pool. Your GS1 Canada data pool will enable you to set up your product content and synchronize it with all your trading partners, so you can plug in reliable data for all markets at one time.
