ProSYNC is an industry managed solution tool that helps you seamlessly load, manage, and share standardized product data through an efficient one-to-many process with multiple trading partners from a centralized location. Built on global standards and attributes specific to Canadian trading partner requirements, ProSYNC delivers a high level of data quality to ensure that trading partners access the most accurate and complete product data.

The enhanced, next generation ProSYNC delivers new capabilities and significant enhancements to provide a more intuitive user experience, enhanced data accuracy, and, a more efficient product listing process.

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve our tools and services, we asked our users what would make their data management and sharing process more effective. Most respondents requested improvements to simplify the process of entering product data as well as reduce the amount of time for trading partners to receive it.

We listened and based on user feedback made significant enhancements to improve the way you load and manage your product data.

The enhanced ProSYNC features the following capabilities and enhancements:

Simplified Product Data Loading
Through an intuitive step-by-step wizard, you can load and manage your product data faster and easier, saving you time and resources while ensuring you are providing your trading partners with the information they need.

Faster Product Data Sharing
With enhancements to the data sharing capabilities, your compliant and published product data can be shared with multiple ECCnet trading partners that receive their product data through ECCnet Registry within minutes, increasing the efficiency of the product listing process, and helping you get your product to market faster.

Increased Trading Partner Visibility
With the new GTIN Visibility feature, you can see when the product data you publish to your trading partners becomes available to them for viewing, helping ensure their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.

Track Changes Over Time
With the new Change Log, you can capture attribute and publication changes to your products by user over time from one centralized location, giving you higher visibility to your data changes, and helping you facilitate traceability.

Mandatory Only View
For new listings of an urgent nature, you can load your product data quicker by using the Mandatory Only View – allowing you to focus on the minimum data attributes necessary to meet trading partner requirements, and complete the remaining product data later to maintain a high level of data integrity.

Identify and Action Data Discrepancies
The new GTIN Compliance Report provides higher visibility to the overall status of your data against the latest industry and trading partner requirements, enabling you to easily identify and action data discrepancies.

View Product Images
With the new Image Gallery, you can easily view different types and versions of product content and images that are captured by GS1 Canada’s Product Image and Data Capture Service. To download your product images, you will still need to use The Vault and The Vault – eCommerce.

Automatically Save Product Drafts
The new Product Draft feature saves your work and updates in the Add/Clone Product Wizard automatically, allowing you to pick up where you left off without having to re-enter the information.

Access Training Materials Easily
With the new Resource Library, you can easily access all available educational resources in one place and get the information you need, the moment you need it, saving you time while helping you familiarize yourself with the newly enhanced tool.

Prefix Validation Warning
With the new prefix validation warning, you will be alerted of GTIN prefix ownership or authorization issues to ensure the GTIN information you share with your trading partners is valid and authorized for use by you.

Manage Multiple Products at Once
With enhancements to the File Upload capabilities, you can simultaneously manage the product data for multiple products by downloading your existing data to a pre defined excel file –whether it's reviewing and editing existing data or adding new products. The availability of this feature is dependant on your subscription level.

24X7 Self-Serve Data Extraction
To perform your own data analysis, you can use the Data Extract capability to extract product data into a pre-defined template and receive an email notification when the process is complete.

You will still be able to drill down into the specific product code. However, the enhanced Product Classification feature will enable you to enter partial or full classification descriptions, allowing you quick access to the correct product classification.

GTIN Discrepancy Reporting

In addition to the ability of viewing the GTIN discrepancies reported by your trading partners, you will be able to also view the number of discrepancy tickets.

You can view the GTIN discrepancies reported on the Home Page of the enhanced ProSYNC and the number of discrepancy tickets indicated on the Product Details page.

Support for complex packaged goods (multipacks, displays, DRPs, etc.)

You will now be able to load all GTINs for complex packaging from the start using the Complex Hierarchies option under the Product wizard.

Trading Partner Publication/Withdrawn

Product data publication has been simplified to allow you to publish hierarchy instead of individual GTINs, helping prevent missing publication for a packaging level.

Product data publication has been simplified to allow you to publish to any data recipients directly through the Product Wizard without having to add any relationships prior. This enables you to broaden your potential reach by making new data recipients automatically available to you in the enhanced ProSYNC.

Access to ECCnet Registry

You no longer need to switch between tools to view your images and get visibility on your trading partners access to your products. The enhanced ProSYNC offers all the capabilities that you need from ECCnet Registry.

Most of the attributes remain the same. We’ve made a few attribute changes to simplify the data loading process.

Your trading partners are often part of multiple channels of distribution across multiple sectors. To ensure the correct information is provided to your trading partners, the enhanced ProSYNC offers new capabilities that enable the validation of product data based on the requirements of the trading partners you are publishing to. You may need to provide additional product data to meet those business needs.

For example, Foodservice trading partners require extended foodservice data, nutritional data, and promotional content.

You can access the enhanced ProSYNC the same way you access ProSYNC – under the “My Tools” section of your myGS1 homepage.

There are no changes to the current process. Your company administrators will still be able to manage users, including the ability to add, edit or delete users, through the “User Management” section of your myGS1 account.

We encourage you to review your users in preparation for the migration. Your company administrators should be reviewing the users on regular basis to ensure they are up to date.
