GS1 Canada's small business bundles were developed to help small businesses like yours navigate a sometimes-confusing process. They help ensure you're quickly and efficiently generating your product barcodes and providing the right data and standardized images required by retailers, distributors and other trading partners to get your products on store shelves and online platforms.

A unique GTIN is required for every variation of your product, which means you need a unique barcode for every size, flavour and modification (such as low-fat or sugar-free) for your products. Here's an example of how to calculate how many GTINs and barcodes you might need. If you're not sure, our simple GTIN Estimator can help determine your needs.

Each product size, flavour, specialty—such as low-fat—and package option will need a separate GTIN. This can add up to multiple GTINs for each product.

Once your small business bundle has been set up, you'll receive a confirmation email with detailed information on next steps. You'll also receive your GS1 Canada Company Licence Certificate with your officially licenced GS1 GTINs, which you'll use to generate your barcodes.
