Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN)

GS1 Global Data Synchronization Network (GS1 GDSN) enables trading partners, in any market, to globally share product information seamlessly. Because companies of all sizes need the same thing ultimately empower the experience to benefit consumers and patients.

Currently the GS1 Global Data Model (GDM) and Attribute Definitions for Business (ADB) standards enable greater data quality within the GS1 Global Data Synchronization Network (GS1 GDSN).

Global Data Model (GDM) Standard

Global Data Model (GDM) with Attribute Definitions for Business (ADB) standards enables unique identification of all products, business locations, documents and sharing of information across enterprises. Users can gain a shared view of goods within the supply chain by leveraging GS1 Standards and the GS1 Global Data Synchronization Network (GS1 GDSN).

How to access GS1 Canada's GDSN

If you do not already have a GDSN data pool provider and need to send or receive product information via GS1 GDSN, you can take advantage of GDSN by subscribing to the GS1 Canada GDSN data pool. GS1 Canada GDSN data pool will enable you to set up your product information and synchronize it with all your trading partners, so you can plug in reliable data for all markets at one time. GS1 Canada's GDSN data pool is also interoperable with ECCnet Registry.

The process for the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN). A five-step process is used to demonstrate the flow of data between Sellers and Buyers, as follows: 1. Loading of company data from sellers to seller's Data Pools. 2. Registering of company data. 3.  Subscription to seller's data pool. 4. Publishing of company data. 5. Confirmation receipt of company data.
