Yes, you can be confident that the barcodes you create in Manage My GTINs are properly formatted, follow GS1 global standards and are ready to print correctly on your items. Manage My GTINs will incorporate your GS1 Company Prefix (if applicable) and calculate the check digit for you.

A unique barcode with a unique Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) is required for each unique product being sold, which means you'll need one for every size, flavour and variation of your product.

An easy-to-use GTIN estimator will help you quickly calculate the number of GTINs you'll need. Once you have your GTINs, you'll be able to create your barcodes through Manage My GTINs.

Manage My GTINs provides a quick and easy way to accurately assign GTINs to your products and create global standard barcodes. It enables users to conveniently store, track and manage their unique GTINs and barcodes all in one central, secure location.

Manage My GTINs is a convenient online tool that guides you step-by-step to accurately assign your GTINs to your products and create GS1 barcodes that are properly formatted and meet GS1 global standard guidelines. It guides you through the process of associating core product attribute data for each of your products, and automatically generates your GTINs, organizes and securely stores your data within the tool. You'll have confidence that your UPCs and barcodes are correct and assurance that your descriptive product information is accurately captured.

The Manage My GTINs tool is included as an added value with all new GS1 Canada subscriptions, commencing December 5, 2021, at no additional cost.

New subscribers will be seamlessly directed to Manage My GTINs upon payment and must first log in to My GS1, and then will be automatically redirected. You will also be able to access Manage My GTINs through the My Tools section of your myGS1 landing page.

Manage My GTINs can generate barcode symbols in a variety of file formats. You'll be guided step-by-step through the process to confidently generate the correct barcode images you'll need for your products based on the information that you provide.

With Manage My GTINs, having a record of all your GTINs in one central location enables you to track your company's GTIN usage and capacity. The capacity tracking indicator in the tool shows exactly how many GTINs you've already assigned to products and how many you still have left. With capacity tracking, you'll reduce the risk of running out of GTINs without warning and avoid unnecessary costs, by only paying for the number of GTINs you need.

In the Manage My GTINs tool, select ‘Create a GTIN’ and you’ll be prompted to provide the necessary information step-by-step: Packaging Type, GPC (Global Product Classification), Country of Sale, and other product details needed.

GTIN (12) or UPC, GTIN-13 (EAN), and GTIN-14 are supported.

The following barcode symbols are supported: UPC-A, EAN-13, ITF-14, GS1-128, GS1 Databar Expanded, GS1 Databar Expanded Stacked.

We support the following formats up to 20 MB: .jpeg, .jpg, .gif, .png, .tiff
